| RRP Peter McDougall's (Just Another Saturday Just A Boys Game) first televised script for the acclaimed BBC Play for Today series in 1972. Based on fact the story is of Alison who unexpectedly falls pregnant to Alex (David Hayman's first TV role). The couple decide to marry and break the news to their parents - an uncomfortable meeting and slightly acrimonious wedding follow exploring the sectarian divide of that era. A witty bleak and audacious tale which caused uproar after the original broadcast but was also proclaimed as the most exciting writing debut since John Osborne's Look Back in Anger. | RRP Recorded live at the Gaumont Theatre Ipswich in spring 1984 this superb film of the 'Hawks' features their most eccentric of front men Nik Turner in fine form. Resembling a creation from one of Dr Who's least convincing episodes Turner wanders around stage like a maniac motor-mouthing his way through what is a truly impressive set of some of Hawkwind's best material. The additional lasergraphics and wild editing could not have been more suitable. Prepare yourself for an audio/visual brainstorm. James Lovell summed up the situation when he radioed back to Earth with the now reknowned message 'Houston we have a problem'. Whilst mission control and the crew worked round the clock to work out a way to get home the world waited anxiously.
