The son is Donald Campbell, a man who achieved incredible feats in his tragically short life, setting a total of seven Water Speed records between 1955 and 1964 and becoming the only man in history to hold both Land and Water records at the same time. His early death in 1967, as he attempted to take the Water Speed record to over 300mph, was at the very same lake where his father had set the record 28 years earlier.
