A feature documentary made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Prisoner, In My Mind is written and directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Chris Rodley. The film recounts one of Chris's early filmmaking experiences: an attempt to interview Patrick McGoohan about his enigmatic series something McGoohan had resisted previously for a Channel 4-commissioned documentary. A documentary that didn't quite go to plan. In a series of frank interviews conducted by Chris, most of which ultimately remained unused in the 1983 documentary Six Into One The Prisoner File, McGoohan slowly reveals his innermost thoughts regarding his concept. Disowned by McGoohan at the time, Six Into One is now locked away forever, but paved the way for this new film, which sets out to put the record straight some thirty-five years later. Featuring new interviews with his daughter Catherine McGoohan who offers insightful and informed views on her father s inner emotional and psychological state of mind and featuring never-before-seen archive footage, this is the definitive story of The Prisoner as told by its creator SPECIAL FEATURES [] Patrick McGoohan 1983: an outtake from one of Chris Rodley's full interview sessions. [] Catherine McGoohan 2017: Catherine McGoohan speaks candidly about her father's work and legacy.
Michael Madsen and Chris Penn: a combination surely designed to set the hearts of fans of low-budget, direct-to-VHS fare aflutter. In Serial Cops (aka Papertrail) grizzled federal agent Jason Enola (Penn) is exhausted, divorced and close-to-insane himself after spending the last decade unsuccessfully hunting down the vicious "Papertrail" serial killer (named, in literal-minded fashion, after the cryptic notes he leaves with the body of each victim). Suddenly, after a four-year hiatus, Mr Papertrail re-enters Enola's life, embarking on a new spate of grisly murders--only this time he (or she) is also providing a running commentary to hapless shrink Dr Alyce Robertson (Jennifer Dale). Enola, with trusty sidekick Brad Abraham (Madsen) in tow, sets off once again to try and nail the bad guy for once for all. Pure by-the-numbers schlock from the opening credits onwards, Penn and Madsen nonetheless conjure up the odd spark of broad, buddy-movie humour between the gore and cod-psychological waffling, while Damian Lee's direction gets us from A to B with a commendable lack of fuss (even if his few attempts at moody set-pieces indicate that's probably out of necessity). Serial Cops is cheesily harmless, for sure, but if you're after a gritty, even halfway believable serial killer flick you might be best advised to give this a skip. --Danny Leigh

Ricky Gervais is brilliant in Ghost Town, playing an unnervingly rude dentist, Bertram, who dies for a few minutes during surgery and acquires the unwanted ability to see ghosts. Chased throughout Manhattan by a gaggle of restless spirits begging him to take care of their unfinished business on Earth, Bertram turns them all away except Frank (Greg Kinnear). The latter, a rogue who cheated on his archaeologist widow, Gwen (Téa Leoni), wants Bertram to intervene in a romance between Gwen and a starchy activist (Bill Campbell). Misanthropic Bertram has to polish his relationship patter, but ends up sounding a lot like Gervais' infamous character in the original The Office, unable to complete a sentence without making others uncomfortable. In time, of course, Bertram falls for the wonderful Gwen, setting up a bunch of overlapping conflicts. Cowritten and directed by David Koepp (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), Ghost Town walks a fine line between comic freshness and a story idea with elements that have become overly familiar in movies and on television. Kinnear and Leoni have never been better on screen, but Ghost Town is well worth seeing because no one like Gervais has previously played the hapless hero in a high-concept film such as this one. With Gervais doing his familiar, hilariously discomfiting thing, it really doesn't matter what kind of movie Ghost Town is. Happily, it's a pretty good film in every respect. --Tom Keogh

However his troubles are triplefold: he is trying to capture Bruno dealing with the local crime boss and dealing with his wife's addiction to morphine. All these events are threatening to collide with tragic consequences... This is a powerful cinema experience and presented on four DVDs in a specially designed box set Lucas Belvaux's achievements are more evident since they offer the chance to watch simultaneously three different scenes which take place at the same moment in time. Comparisons have been made to Kieslowski's classic 'Three Colours' trilogy but 'One Two And Three' form a trilogy of outstanding achievement.
