We Have Such Sights To Show You In the 1980s, Clive Barker changed the face of horror fiction, throwing out the rules to expose new vistas of terror and beauty, expanding the horizons for every genre writer who followed him. With Hellraiser, his first feature film, he did the same for cinema. Hedonist Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman) thinks he has reached the limits of earthly pleasure. But a mysterious puzzle box will take him further than he can possibly imagine, opening the doors to a dominion where pain and pleasure are indivisible and summoning the Cenobites, whose experiments in the higher reaches of experience will tear his soul apart. When he manages to escape, Frank returns to the world skinless and in need of help. Now his former lover Julia (Clare Higgins) must kill to make him whole again. But the Cenobites want Frank back, and there'll be hell to pay when they find him. Hellbound: Hellraiser Ii expands on Barker's original vision as screenwriter Peter Atkins takes Julia Cotton, her step daughter Kirsty (Ashley Laurence) and the sinister Dr. Channard (Kenneth Cranham) into the dominion of the Cenobites themselves. Hellraiser Iii: Hell on Earth sees Pinhead set loose on the sinful streets of New York City to create chaos with a fresh cadre of Cenobitic kin. Then, Hellraiser: Bloodline sinks its hooks into past, present and future with the story of Phillip LeMarchand, the 18th-century toymaker who made the lament configuration puzzle box, his descendent John Merchant - a 20th-century architect whose most recent building bears a striking resemblance to the lament configuration - and Dr. Paul Merchant, a 22nd-century engineer and designer of The Minos, a space station which is a great deal more than it seems. The title Ice Cold in Alex refers to the beer the heroes of this 1958 British World War Two classic plan to drink in Alexandria, once they have escaped from the Germans, negotiated minefields and survived both mechanical failure and the killing heat of the North African sands. The setting is Libya in 1942, at the height of the campaigns featured in The Desert Fox (1951) and The Desert Rats (1953), and a disparate group in a military ambulance--which include a Nazi agent to add tension of one kind and a beautiful nurse to add tension of another--must make an epic journey to safety. Staring John Mills, Sylvia Sims, Anthony Quayle and Harry Andrews the terror and poignancy comes from our certainty that not everyone will survive, such that the suspense sometimes reaches near unbearable levels. Director J Lee-Thomson was clearly inspired by the then recent French masterpiece, The Wages of Fear (1952) and handles both the character drama and set-pieces with great skill. He would go on to make another great war adventure, The Guns of Navarone (1961), also starring Anthony Quayle, who then returned to the desert for the ultimate British war classic, Lawrence of Arabia (1962). --Gary S. A detective drama that doesn't follow the script. Suspects is a fresh and original British procedural crime drama, set in London, that tackles difficult subjects in a gritty and real way. Shot like a fly-on-the-wall documentary, this innovative new series is unscripted with the cast devising their own dialogue, lending Suspects a unique sense of authenticity. It's as though the crew has been granted the privilege of following a real police investigation. Starring Fay Ripley as DI Martha Bellamy (Cold Feet), Damien Molony as DS Jack Weston (Being Human, Ripper Street) and Clare-Hope Ashitey as DC Charlie Steele (Children of Men, Top Boy) as East London CID officers, each episode follows a different case from the committing of the crime to its conclusion. In this 3-disc set containing all the 9 episodes of Series 1 & 2, Bellamy and her team investigate crimes that are hard-hitting and contemporary, ranging from the hunt for a serial rapist, a brutal hammer assault on a man in his own home to the abduction of a young boy by a paedophile ring. With guest stars including Charlie Brooks (EastEnders), Dominic Powers (Emmerdale), Gillian Kearney (Casualty) and Larissa Wilson (Skins), Suspects is immersive and absorbing, taking the viewer into exhilarating new territory.

Eureka Entertainment to release WOLF CREEK, the complete first series of the slick and tense psychological drama as seen on Fox UK, on DVD and Blu-ray for the first time in the UK on 6 October 2016. Murderous psychopath Mick Taylor (John Jarratt) returns in Wolf Creek, an epic 6-part continuation of the international horror film sensation of the same name. Mick still prowls the Australian Outback, brutally murdering any tourists unfortunate enough to cross his path, and having a ripper of a time doing it. It's business as usual for Mick when he comes across the Thorogood family, on holiday to experience the outdoors, enjoy the open road, and help their 19-year-old daughter Eve (Lucy Fry) overcome her addiction to painkillers. Mick targets the family and a bloody massacre ensues, but this time, things are different. Eve survives (barely) and manages to escape. After recovering from her injuries, Eve sets out on a cross country mission of vengeance, determined to hunt down Mick Taylor and end his killing spree once and for all. The hunter has become the hunted. Highly cinematic in style and filled with all the bloody violence and dark humour that made the original film a sensation, Wolf Creek is a horror series like no other, and is not to be missed. First shown on Fox UK in August / September 2016, the 6-part mini-series will be available to purchase on Blu-ray and DVD as a 2-disc Blu-ray set and a 2-disc DVD set, two days after the series finale has aired on Fox UK.
Having made his reputation as one of the most prolific and gifted horror writers of his generation (prompting Stephen King to call him "the future of horror"), Clive Barker made a natural transition to movies with this audacious directorial debut from 1987. Not only did Barker serve up a chilling tale of devilish originality, he also introduced new icons of horror that since have become as popular among genre connoisseurs as Frankenstein's monster and the Wolfman. Foremost among these frightful, Hellraiser visions is the sadomasochistic demon affectionately named Pinhead (so named because his pale, bald head is a geometric pincushion and a symbol of eternal pain). Pinhead is the leader of the Cenobites, agents of evil who appear only when someone successfully "solves" the exotic puzzle box called the Lamont Configuration--a mysterious device that opens the door to Hell. The puzzle's latest victim is Frank (Sean Chapman), who now lives in a gelatinous skeletal state in an upstairs room of the British home just purchased by his newlywed half-brother (Andrew Robinson, best known as the villain from Dirty Harry), who has married one of Frank's former lovers (Claire Higgins). The latter is recruited to supply the cannibalistic Frank with fresh victims, enabling him to reconstitute his own flesh--but will Frank succeed in restoring himself completely? Will Pinhead continue to demonstrate the flesh-ripping pleasures of absolute agony? Your reaction to this description should tell you if you've got the stomach for Barker's film, which has since spawned a number of interesting but inferior sequels. It's definitely not for everyone, but there's no denying that it's become a semiclassic of modern horror. --Jeff Shannon
