  King Of The Hill is another animation hit from Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge who also voices the starring character Hank Hill a propane gas salesman in the fictional town Arlen Texas. Hank is often besieged by the idiosyncrasies of society but he finds (some) serenity in his home-life with his wife substitute Spanish teacher Peggy his awkward son Bobby and his live-in niece-in-law Luanne Platter. Adding flavour to the ordinary dish the series serves are Hank's friends divorcee military barber Bill Dauterive paranoid Dale Gribble (with an obsession with Government conspiracy theories) and the gibberish spouting Boomhauer.   Not nearly as good as the original French comedy upon which it is based, Three Men and a Baby is nevertheless decent brain candy directed with some crackle by Leonard Nimoy. Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson star as three swinging bachelor roommates who find a baby girl on their doorstep--the daughter of Danson's character (who doesn't know about her) by a woman (Nancy Travis) with whom he had a brief fling. The jokes about dirty diapers and feeding schedules are predictable, but the film gains real warmth from Selleck, who does a convincing job playing a man whose life is changed for the better by added responsibility. A distracting subplot involving some bad guys threatens to derail everything, and the ending is a bit unconvincing as filmed, but the virtues of this film finally win out over its weaknesses. --Tom Keogh, Amazon.com

  Just what the world needs, another riff on that post-Psycho horror cliché: the slasher movie. In this version, which considerably dumbs down the Lois Duncan book, the bad guy chases naughty teenagers with a hook, all the while dressed as a dark version of the Gorton's fisherman. They seem to have killed someone in a car accident while out partying, and a price must be paid. Nothing new is added to the genre by I Know What You Did Last Summer, though it would be unfair not to note that this does have some scary moments. That is about all it has, because as much as this wanted to be another Scream, it hasn't the heart or the script. It does, however, have the requisite cast of small-screen stars (including Party of Five's Jennifer Love Hewitt and Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar) to have snagged box-office success, spawning a sequel. --Rochelle O'Gorman
