Kevin and Maggie Costello live for the moment constantly expressing their affection for each other in outrageous ways. Roger and Mim Dervish on the other hand lead a quiet life reserving their passions for the seemingly more subdued activities of cricket and tea cakes. Delve into the mind of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy in this gripping drama from director Amber Sealey. Written by C. Robert Cargill (Doctor Strange) based on actual interview transcripts, and starring Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Luke Kirby (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Aleksa Palladino (The Irishman), No Man of God recounts the final years of Bundy's life, as the FBI make one last attempt to secure the truth about his horrific crimes. Bill Hagmaier (Elijah Wood), an agent in the FBI's Behavioural Analysis Unit, is assigned to probe the dangerous mind of convicted serial killer Ted Bundy (Luke Kirby) prior to his execution. Considered by his superiors to have little chance of gaining insight into the motives and actions of the guarded and evasive Bundy, Hagmaier nonetheless establishes a rapport with the killer, but with time running out before Bundy is given the chair, can Hagmaier get the answers he's looking for and gain closure for the victims' families?
Starring Robert Beatty Jack Warner and Simone Signoret this is the story of a diverse group of people from very different backgrounds who were brought together in one of the strangest enterprises of the war. Sabotage was their job; sabotage organised from London in the form of macabre practical jokes as ingenious as they were injurious to the enemy. The work was over-clouded with the constant fear of discovery - and what it would mean.
With Red Rock West and The Last Seduction, writer-director John Dahl established himself as America's leading maker of tough, twisted, funny little neo-noir pictures. Red Rock West is a spare, tight reworking of noir-ish motifs--the lone man caught in a web of circumstance and betrayal, the rich femme fatale, the corrupt policeman, the wounded military veteran, the homicidal psychopath--that brings to mind such classics as Detour, Out of the Past and Bad Day at Black Rock. Cage--warming up for his career-peak (so far) performance in Leaving Las Vegas a few years later--plays an unemployed former Marine (his leg injured in the truck-bombing of the base in Beirut) who stumbles into a nightmarish situation when he stops at a bar in the isolated Wyoming town of Red Rock West. With one fateful step, he's trapped; and no matter how hard he tries, he just can't seem to leave town. The late JT Walsh is (as always) splendidly corrupt as the bar owner who harbours some deadly secrets, and Dennis Hopper does a variation on his patented Blue Velvet/River's Edge psycho that suits the treacherous environs of Red Rock West just fine. --Jim Emerson, Amazon.com

Titles Comprise: The Dam Busters: Dr Barnes Wallis was possessed with a seemingly crazy idea - the creation of a bouncing bomb designed to destroy the Ruhr dams and paralyse the enemy's industrial nerve centre. He fought persistent scepticism and disbelief that such a feat was possible though even with the matchless skill of RAF Wing Commander Guy Gibson and his squadron could such a mission succeed? Against The Wind: Starring Robert Beatty Jack Warner and Simone Signoret this is the story of a diverse group of people from very different backgrounds who were brought together in one of the strangest enterprises of the war. Sabotage was their job; sabotage organised from London in the form of macabre practical jokes as ingenious as they were injurious to the enemy. Over a thirty year career in television, David Nixon's subtle blend of magic, music and comedy was loved by millions and is fondly remembered to this day. In his heyday during the 1970s, Nixon was hardly ever offscreen and David Nixon's Magic Box and The David Nixon Show were firm favourites with the viewing public. For Nixon, though, Christmas had its own special magic as can be seen in these two classic festive specials from the mid-'70s, whose guests include the lovely Aimi MacDonald, famed illusionist Robert Harbin, pop chanteuse Lynsey de Paul, vaudevillian comic George Carl, international singing star Caterina Valente and ventriloquist Shari Lewis with her feisty sock puppet, Lamb Chop!
Elvis: Films That Rock contains three of the King's early screen efforts: Love Me Tender (1956), Flaming Star (1960) and Wild in the Country (1961). It's pointless to suggest that they aren't among Elvis's best movies (you'll have to look elsewhere for King Creole and Jailhouse Rock, which probably are), partly because any fan's going to want them all anyway, but also because all three are interesting in their different ways. Love Me Tender, made in black and white in 1956, was Presley's first stab at acting, and this story of a family split by the American Civil War--one brother goes off to fight, the other doesn't--sees him short on screentime and being upstaged by pretty much everyone else. That said, it was a reasonably brave move for Presley to begin his movie career by dealing with this kind of subject matter, however sentimentalised. Four years later, Flaming Star took the steer by the horns with Presley portraying a young man of mixed parentage caught up in the ethnic conflict between Native Americans and the white race. Again, a brave choice of subject; this was a landmark movie insofar as it showed Presley certainly had enough acting ability to create a credible parallel career along the lines of, say, Sinatra. It wasn't to be, though, as even then his talents were being manipulated by others, which is why all his later movies--even the best ones--were little more than advertisements for his records. Wild in the Country, from the following year, saw Presley as a young tearaway who finds redemption in his talent for writing. It's pure melodrama, but the moralising is kept under control. This is a nice little collection, all in all, and an essential for any fan. On the DVD: Elvis: Films That Rock presents the three pictures in positively radiant transfers, which are absolutely gunge-free and make the very best of the beautifully stylised lighting and cinematography of the period, while the classic Cinemascope presentations translate perfectly into widescreen. Special features include trailers for all three movies. --Roger Thomas
