Eddie Murphy stars in this fantasy comedy based on the Disney theme park ride. Real estate agent Jim Evers (Murphy) is given the task of selling Gracey Manor, a dilapidated mansion in New Orleans. Before he tries to find a buyer, he decides to visit the house with his family. When they arrive they are greeted by the owner Edward Gracey (Nathaniel Parker) and his butler Ramsley (Terence Stamp) who invite them in and offer them a bed for the night after the river floods leaving them trapped. When Jim's children Megan and Michael (Aree Davis and Marc John Jefferies) discover a painting in the attic of a woman who bears a remarkable resemblance to their mother Sara (Marsha Thomason), the family questions Gracey only to find that both he and Ramsley died a long time ago and it is their ghosts to which they are speaking...
