A former police detective and a school teacher, embark on a new life running a Guest House in an idyllic part of the Lake District. They have successfully established themselves in the community, launched the business and are embracing the future. But all that changes when Mark an old friend and police detective turns up with a surprising offer that may hide ulterior motives. Mark asks the couple if they will run their home not as a Guest House for holidaymakers, but instead as a Safe House for those whose lives are in danger. The couple agree and are soon taking in... their first 'guests'; a family at risk, headed up by David and Ali. Pursuing them is Michael, a violent man with an unknown agenda. For Robert, protecting this family resurrects the fears and anxieties bound up in a terrifying night when as a police detective he was ambushed and shot in the line of duty, whilst protecting a star witness who was due to testify against her gangland husband.
