Emma Watson and Daniel Brühl star in this historical drama centred around the Colonia Dignidad. In Santiago in 1973, European lovers Lena and Daniel (Watson and Brühl) find themselves caught up in Chile's military coup to overthrow President Salvador Allende. When Allende is deposed and replaced with General Augusto Pinochet, Daniel is captured and taken to the Colonia Dignidad, an infamous colony led by Paul Schäfer (Michael Nyqvist), where many dissidents were said to have been tortured and killed. To save him, Lena joins the Christian cult and is horrified by what she sees taking place there under Schäfer's watchful eye. Together, the pair plot to escape and expose the colony's dark secrets to the outside world but will they make it out alive?
