  This digitally re-mastered version of the classic World War 2 film tells the story of the Battle of Arnhem of 1944. The film was produced in 1945 and is unique amongst War films in that it was filmed entirely without the use of studios or sets or actors. The film cleverly weaves original footage with re-enactments shot on location in Arnhem featuring the men from the Airbourne Regiment who actually fought in the Battle. After sweeping through France and Belgium in the summer of 1944 the allies were poised to enter Holland. Field Marshall Montgomery favoured a single thrust north over the Rhine to attack the Ruhr with the aim of winning the War by the end of 1944. To achieve their objective the allies launched Operation Market Garden on 17th September 1944 but from the start the plan ran into difficulties. The paratroopers encountered fierce German resistance and suffered heavy casualties before finally being withdrawn in 9 days later. This film is a tribute to every man who fought at Arnhem and an everlasting memorial to those who gave their lives.

Sapphire (Yvonne Buckingham), a fair-skinned West Indian immigrant is discovered hiding in London and murdered. To the police, led by Superintendent Hazard (Nigel Patrick) and Inspector Learoyd (Michael Craig), the case seems clear cut - Sapphire must have been killed by a member of the black community. However, when Sapphire's brother (Earl Cameron) turns up at the police station and Sapphire's true ethnic roots become known, Hazard and Learoyd must face up to the racism of two communities and, quite possibly, their own. 'The Happy Family' stars Stanley Holloway and Kathleen Harrison as a couple who refuse to move from their house as the government reveal their plans to build a Festival Hall on the South Bank. The tenants of the local corner shop, Mr and Mrs Lord (Holloway and Harrison), are the only residents who refuse to make way for the construction - even when the police issue an eviction order. As the family barricade themselves into the shop, the bailiffs must try to think of another way to get them out. Violent Playground (1958) is a tough kitchen sink drama starring Stanley Baker and David McCallum and is set amongst the tough council estates of Liverpool.

  White farmer Dirk Bogarde and his neighbors are targeted for extermination by the zealously nationalistic Mau Maus. Native doctor Joseph Tomelty whose brother had earlier been killed under questionable circumstances endeavors to help the whites escape the hordes only to discover that his own father is the local leader of the insurrectionists. Given the cruelties of colonial rule in Africa it is hard for any film to make the Mau Mau total villains despite their own well-documented brutal treatment of their enemies. Simba downplays side-taking and ideology choosing instead to concentrate on the adventure and suspense elements.
