When there's no more room in hell the dead will walk the earth! As a blend of horror action tension and humour Dawn of the Dead stands in a class of its own as the only true zombie epic of all time. A National Emergency grips the US as the zombie population grows at an alarming rate. Two S.W.A.T. officers a helicopter pilot and his girlfriend escape the city and take refuge in an abandoned shopping mall after securing it following a series of flesh-shredding confrontations with the undead. Their survival is threatened when a band of looters leave a door open allowing the zombies access to the mall once more and a final stand-off for survival must play out. With near unbearable tension throughout George A Romero's Dawn of the Dead is a work of zombie film-making genius.
George A. Romero's terrifying classic, the movie that invented the zombie genre, in a stunning new 4K restoration. Shot outside Pittsburgh on a shoestring budget by a band of filmmakers determined to make their mark, Night of the Living Dead, directed by horror master GEORGE A. ROMERO, is one of the great stories of independent cinema: a midnight hit turned boxoffice smash that became one of the most influential films of all time. A deceptively simple tale of a group of strangers trapped in a farmhouse who find themselves fending off a horde of recently dead, flesheating ghouls, Romero's claustrophobic vision of a late1960s America literally tearing itself apart rewrote the rules of the horror genre, combined gruesome gore with acute social commentary, and quietly broke ground by casting a black actor (DUANE JONES) in its lead role. Stark, haunting, and more relevant than ever, Night of the Living Dead is back, in a new 4K restoration.

The most fun you'll ever have being scared! Two macabre masters - writer Stephen King and director George A. Romero - conjure up five shocking yarns each a virtuoso exercise in the ghouls-and-gags style of classic '50s horror comics. A murdered man emerges from the grave for Father's Day cake. A meteor's ooze makes everything... grow. A professor selects his wife as a snack for a crated creature. A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror. A malevolent millionaire with an insect phobia becomes the prey of a cockroach army. Add the spirited performances of a fine cast (Hal Holbrook Adrienne Barbeau Leslie Nielsen Ted Danson E.G. Marshall and King himself) and the ghoulish makeup wizardry of Tom Savini. Let the Creepshow begin!
From the legendary director of Dawn Of The Dead, George A. Romero comes a new take on his terrifying world of the undead.
Eureka Entertainment to release George A. Romero's THE DARK HALF, a dark and gripping horror based on the acclaimed Stephen King novel, making its UK debut on Blu-ray in a Dual Format (Blu-ray & DVD) edition as part of the Eureka Classics range from 14 October 2019. The first print-run will feature a Limited Edition Collectors Booklet. Masters of horror Stephen King (IT, The Shining) and George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead) have created a gripping, creepy, frightening film that thrills, shocks and works us over! Featuring an intelligent screenplay and first-rate cast, including Oscar® winner Timothy Hutton, The Dark Half will keep you captivated to the chilling end. Horror writer Thad Beaumont (Hutton) hopes to distance himself from his murder novels and from George Stark, the pseudonymous name he has used to author them. To achieve this, he cooks up a murder of his own: a publicity stunt that should lay Stark to rest forever. But when the people around him are found gruesomely slain and his own fingerprints dot the crime scenes Beaumont is dumbfounded until he learns that Stark has taken on a life of his own and begun a gruesome quest for vengeance! Adapted from the bestselling novel by Stephen King, who wrote the novel as a nod to his own literary pseudonym, Richard Bachman, The Dark Half is an intense and shocking horror film, with a climax that stands up as one of the craziest of both King and Romero's careers. Eureka Classics is proud to present The Dark Half in its UK debut on Blu-ray.

Day of the Dead, chapter three of George Romero's mighty zombie trilogy, has big footsteps to follow. Night of the Living Dead was a classic that revitalised a certain corner of the cinema, and Dawn of the Dead was nothing short of epic. Day of the Dead, however, has always been regarded as a comedown compared to those twin peaks--and perhaps it is. But on its own terms, this is an awfully effective horror movie, made with Romero's customary social satire and cinematic vigour--when a "retrained" zombie responds to the "Ode to Joy", the film is in genuinely haunting territory. The story is set inside a sunken military complex, where Army and medical staff, supposedly working on a solution to the zombie problem, are going crazy (strongly foreshadowing the final act of 28 Days Later). Tom Savini's make-up effects could make even hardcore gore fans tear off their own heads in amazement. --Robert Horton

Terrified the girl jumps in the car and speeds to a nearby farm house to get help. She goes inside and the
After the experimental outings of There's Always Vanilla and Season of the Witch, Night of the Living Dead director George A. Romero returned to rather more distinct horror territory with his 1973 infection opus The Crazies. When a plane carrying a secret biological weapon crash-lands in the vicinity of a small, rural town, the area descends into chaos. Infected with a virus that sends them into a homicidal frenzy, the locals turn on each other in an orgy of bloody violence. As the army cordons off the town and government agents clash with scientists over the appropriate course of action, a small band of survivors attempt to make their way to safety. Starring cult icon Lynn Lowry (Shivers, I Drink Your Blood), the influence of Romero's The Crazies can be felt in everything from the director's own subsequent work many commentators have noted the stylistic and thematic similarities to his zombie classic Dawn of the Dead right up to Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later and beyond. Although it lacks the creepy subtleties of Stephen King's celebrated novel, George Romero's underrated adaptation of The Dark Half is among the best films based on King's fiction, with Romero taking care to honour the central theme while serving up some gruesome gore in the film's much-criticised finale. Inspired by King's own admission that he wrote several novels under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, The Dark Half explores the duality of a writer's impulse, ranging from literary respectability to the viscerally cathartic thrills of exploitative pulp fiction. Author and teacher Thad Beaumont (Timothy Hutton) finds himself torn between those extremes when he "kills" his profitable alter ego, George Stark (the bestselling dark half to Thad's light), who then assumes evil, autonomous form (again played by Hutton) to defend lethally his role in Thad's creative endeavours. Forced to wrestle with this evil manifestation of his own unformed twin, Thad must fight to protect his wife (Amy Madigan), their twin babies and himself. While Romero skilfully develops the twin/duality theme to explore the writer's dilemma, Hutton is outstanding in his dual roles, playing Stark (in subtly fiendish makeup) as a redneck rebel with a knack for slashing throats. Julie Harris adds class in a supporting role, and horror fans will relish Romero's climactic showdown, in which swarms of sparrows seal Stark's fate. It favours a pulp sensibility with clunky exposition to explain Stark's existence, but The Dark Half is a laudable effort from everyone involved. --Jeff Shannon, Amazon.com
A military plane carrying a secret bio-chemical warfare agent crashes near Evans City Pennsylvania releasing a deadly virus into the local water supply. Highly contagious the virus quickly begins to infect the town's residents producing homicidal insanity in its victims. As government scientists work to find an antidote the town is forcibly quarantined by the US military. Clad in protective suits troops of soldiers move in intending to control and cover up the situation and to
