Advances in military aviation during World War Two led to supersonic capabilities. The men who had developed jet technology in the 1930s and 40s could not know what impact their hard work would have on aviation during the latter half of the 20th Century. Concorde. The very word still evokes an image of a time when British aviation technology soared above all others. The elegant birds carried many thousands across the Atlantic in great comfort and at great speed. Probably the most important contribution Concorde made was to keep the British aircraft industry alive during planning for the aircraft in the late 1950's and construction of the two prototypes in 1965 but Concorde will forever hold a special place in the hearts of the British public.

• UFO Encounter Of The Third Kind: Rendlesham UFO Case | DVD | (11/08/2014) from £19.51   |  Saving you £N/A (N/A%)   |  RRP £N/A

The Rendlesham Forest Incident is one of the most amazing incidents in UFO History. In December 1980 an unprecedented series of sightings and the actual landing of a craft (or multiple craft) of unknown origin occurred in Rendlesham Forest Suffolk England. The base was used by the U.S. Air Force during this period therefore dozens of USAF personnel were eyewitnesses to these events as they occurred over a 2-3 day period. Landed craft were not only directly encountered by military personnel but a hovering UFO was seen emitting a beam of light directly over a missile silo which reportedly disarmed it. The British Ministry of Defense (MoD) denied that the event posed any threat to national security and stated that it was never investigated as a security matter. Admiral Lord Hill-Norton the former Chief of the Defense later stated an incident like this at a nuclear weapons base was unquestionably of national security interest. Eyewitness and Deputy Base Commander Colonel Charles Halt also disagreed and insists the event was covered up by both the U.K. and U.S. intelligence services. Later evidence indicated that there was a substantial MoD file on the subject which led to claims of a cover-up. Some interpreted this as part of a larger pattern of information suppression concerning the true nature of unidentified flying objects by both the American and British governments.
