Classic comedy from director Preston Sturges. Jimmy (Dick Powell) is an office worker who dreams of a more prosperous life. Betty (Ellen Drew) is his more utilitarian girlfriend. In an attempt to make some money, Jimmy decides to enter a slogan contest. His entry is: 'If you can't sleep at night, it isn't the coffee, it's the bunk!' When a group of Jimmy's fellow employees fake a telegram announcing that he's won the contest, he spends all his 'winnings'. Unfortunately, when he discovers the truth, he finds himself penniless and unemployed and only the love of his girlfriend keeps him going.
