Classic comedy. For those who haven't seen the show before, it's about the daily lives of Ray Barone (Ray Romano), his wife Debra Barone (Patrica Heaton) and their three children, Ally (Madylin Sweeten) and the twins Michael (Sullivan Sweeten) and Geoffrey (Sawyer Sweeten).
They just have one problem, Rays parents and older brother live across the street. Marie Barone (Doris Roberts) Rays mother is very controlling of both her sons and is very intrusive. Frank Barone (Peter Boyle) rays father, is always on his butt watching T.V. but he generally uses Rays T.V for the sake of it. Rays older brother Robert (Brad Garrett)is a in the NYPD(New York Police department) but he still lives with his parents. He is not very successful with women, except his on/ off relationship with Debra's friend Amy (Monica Horan).
Anyway back to the DVD. The new series three title sequence is the best bit. It makes me cry with hysterics every time it's shown on an episode and if the theme is that good, imagine how good the show is. Series 3, Episode 1: "The Invasion" was my personal favorite of the series; it opens the series with an episode to remember. Although it had no effect on the overall plot of the series, it was a good laugh and had Ray and Debra..... 'Being corrupted by the dark side' is one way of putting it and eventually getting Robert into trouble.
Other highlights of the series are 'Halloween candy', 'The Toaster' (I also would like to put in a good word for the interesting and insightful commentary to this episode by Phil Rosenthal an Ray Romano), 'Ping Pong', ' Cruising with Marie', 'Big Shots', 'Be Nice', 'Dancing with Debra', 'Robert Moves back' and 'How they met'(again with the good commentary stuff i said earlier). 'How they met' is the traditional episode where the characters look over their past, going into detail some of the key events that we never saw their lives. Back in series 1 we had 'why are we here' going back to the dreaded move to as ray would put it 'red zone' where they are now, series 2 brought us 'the wedding', giving us Ray and Debra"s happiest day of their life "supposedly", and 'how they met' is the story of, well.... how they met.
The DVD"s special features include the bloopers and deleted scenes and museum of television and radio discussion with cast and Phil Rosenthal. Don't want to spoil anything here so watch them.
Overall, looking back over the series, this is so far the best. The comedy is laugh out loud funny and it's everywhere in this very special and very recommended 4 disc DVD box set. So why not get it and share Rays pain with your family today.

Meanwhile, Ray's loser brother Robert (Brad Garrett) also loves to drop by Ray's place to bemoan his failings in life at every opportunity, often causing exasperation among the beleaguered family. A hugely popular sitcom from CBS, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND began in 1996 and the rating soon soared, placing the show among the Top 10 most watched shows in the country. The third season is collected here in its entirety.
