Classic musical comedy set in the 1920s. Samuel Fulton (Charles Coburn) is a wealthy, elderly man with no family to whom he can leave his fortune. After much deliberation he eventually decides to leave his estate to the family of his first love, Harriet (Lynn Bari), who turned down his marriage proposal years ago before marrying another man. But before any formal agreement is made, Samuel decides to give them a test, so they can prove they're worthy of inheriting the money.
