Sam Neill and Julian Dennison star in this comedy drama based on Barry Crump's novel 'Wild Pork and Watercress'. When city-dwelling juvenile delinquent Ricky Baker (Dennison) is placed in the care of foster parents Bella (Rima Te Wiata) and Hec (Neill), he is immediately disheartened by the prospect of living in the wilderness. When Ricky decides to make a run for it, escaping into the deep, dark forest, Hec quickly follows in pursuit of the unprepared boy. When child services visit Hec and Bella's home only to find it empty, they launch a national manhunt as they fear the boy may have been abducted.
