Instantly recognisable by their warmth and humour, Rosenthal's scripts were always popular with the viewing public and were invariably big ratings winners. Alongside single plays he also honed his craft on a diverse range of television shows - from Coronation Street (for which he was one of the key writers in the 1960s) to highly-acclaimed comedy and drama shows such as The Dustbinmen, London's Burning and The Lovers (all of which he also created). The contents of this set showcase the diversity and charm of Rosenthal's work, with many of these shows not seen since their original transmission. Collection of 17 single plays and episodes of TV dramas by acclaimed writer Jack Rosenthal, whose career began in the 1960s. In 'Another Sunday and Sweet FA' (1972), two amateur football teams develop an intense rivalry. 'Ready When You Are, Mr McGill' (2003) follows the life of a hapless film extra. 'The Lovers' (1973) is a film version of the popular sitcom. In 'Spaghetti Two-Step' (1977), a couple sort out their marital difficulties over a meal. In 'Your Name's Not God, It's Edgar' (1968) a troubled student finds salvation in a charismatic friend. In 'The Knowledge' (1979), four men attempt to learn the Knowledge so they can get jobs as taxi drivers. Also included in this box set are episodes of the television series 'Coronation Street', 'Mrs Thursday', 'Village Hall', 'About Face', 'Pardon the Expression', 'The Dustbinmen', 'London's Burning', Bootsie and Snudge', and 'Moving Story' written by Rosenthal.
