Michael Maloney stars in this British television mini-series based on John Hadfield's bestselling novel. In 1957, quintessential civil servant Jasper Pye (Maloney) decides to spice up his life after realising that the people around him find him extremely boring. But just when he decides to abscond to Paris and become a painter, his superiors seemingly ruin his plan by sending him to the stately home of the eccentric old Lord Flamborough (Leslie Phillips) to perform a menial task. His task proves to be anything but menial however when Jasper encounters the three daughters of Lord Flamborough and quickly becomes embroiled in their antics.
