Screen adaptation of Brenda Maddox's book about James Joyce and his love affair with Nora Barnacle. Up-and-coming writer Joyce (Ewan McGregor) meets and falls immediately in love with Nora (Susan Lynch), an outspoken country girl who epitomises everything he looks for in a woman.
