Triple-bill of action movies starring Hollywood hardman Vin Diesel. In the sci-fi thriller 'Pitch Black' (1999), a cargo ship travelling through deep space experiences technical problems and crashes on a deserted planet. With forty passengers on board, only ten have managed to survive the crash, and one of them, the mysterious Riddick (Diesel), is an armed and dangerous convict determined to take control of events. The planet at first seems barren, with no evidence of water or living creatures, but when the sun sets the survivors discover they have the planet's terrifying nightlife to contend with. Facing certain death, they have to put their lives in the hands of the most dangerous man on board. In 'xXx' (2002), Diesel plays Xander Cage, an extreme sports fanatic who gets forcibly conscripted into the US secret service when his latest stunt lands him in trouble with the law. Sent to Prague with instructions to infiltrate an ex-Red Army terrorist group, Xander soon discovers plans to develop a deadly biological weapon intended for use against various cities across the globe. But Yelena (Asia Argento), the girlfriend of terrorist leader Yorgi (Marton Csokas), already has her suspicions about the US agent, and the growing tension between the two of them means that Xander's cover might be blown at any moment. Finally, in 'The Fast and the Furious' (2001), undercover cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) finds himself in the Los Angeles illegal street racing scene, searching for the criminals behind a string of hijackings. Prime suspect is Dominic Toretto (Diesel), whose passion for Japanese fast cars is only matched by his enthusiasm for stealing hi-tech equipment. But as Brian gets closer he falls for Toretto's beautiful sister and finds himself torn between his loyalty to Dominic and his oath to uphold the law.
