After suffering a collective panic attack at the foot of Castle Hill, the soldiers Guimarães (Daniel de Oliveira), Tenente (Julio Andrade), Piauí (Gaspar Francisco) and Laurindo (Thogum) try to get down the mountain, but end up missing the others. When they were reunited, they had to decide to return to the battalion and are at risk of facing court-martial for dereliction of duty, or return to the position the night before and at risk of facing a surprise attack of the enemy. That's when the journalist Rui (Ivo Canelas), tells about an active minefield and they think this is a chance to redeem the mistake they committed, but much is yet to happen and the war is far from over.
Vicente Ferraz directs this war drama based on real events of World War II. Set during the winter of 1944, a Brazilian Expeditionary Force on a minesweeping patrol in Italy find themselves lost in a land far from their base in the mountains. As they embark on an horrific journey back to camp they come across two army deserters; one Italian and one German. Forming an unlikely group of renegades the men set about crossing the infamous Road 47 to achieve safe passage to their futures.
