Early comedy collection featuring the Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy, and the Marx Brothers. 'The Three Stooges: Extreme Rarities' comprises four remastered, colourised comedy shorts featuring American vaudeville act The Three Stooges. Films are: 'Disorder in the Court' (1936), 'Brideless Groom' (1947), 'Sing a Song of Six Pants' (1947) and 'Malice in the Palace' (1949). In the Laurel and Hardy classic 'Way Out West' (1937), Stan (Stan Laurel) and Ollie (Oliver Hardy) find themselves in another fine mess when they bungle the delivery of a goldmine deed to Mary Roberts (Rosina Lawrence). Duped by the saloon-owner into giving the deed away, the comedy duo set about restoring it to its rightful owner. 'Duck Soup' (1933), the Marx Brothers' fifth feature, is a zany political satire that so offended fascist dictator Benito Mussolini that the film was banned in Italy. Appointed president of Freedonia under the patronage of the wealthy Mrs Teasdale (Margaret Dumont), Rufus T. Firefly (Groucho) sets about starting a war with neighbouring Sylvania. To this end he trades insults with Sylvanian ambassador Trentino (Louis Calhern), unaware that Trentino's spies Chicolini (Chico) and Pinky (Harpo) are already working to bring down Freedonia from within! The Marxes' final film for Paramount includes the classic mirror sequence, and was also the last to feature Zeppo, who - dissatisfied with his role as straight man to his three siblings - subsequently embarked on a successful career as an agent.
