Series following Sir Trevor McDonald as he travels to the Caribbean, which consists of over 7000 islands, to discover what life is really like for the people who live there. In addition to the spectacular beaches and scenery, the reality of island life and the impact of natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions are examined. Highlights include witnessing a giant turtle laying eggs, a look at Communism in the Caribbean when Trevor visits the largest island, Cuba, a tour of Sir Richard Branson's private island, and a visit to the broadcaster's own birthplace, Trinidad.
