Ruth Goodman, Peter Ginn and Tom Pinfold present this documentary which aims to discover what it was like to live in the year 1500. Under the reign of King Henry VII the monasteries were one of the biggest landowners in Tudor England. The three historians travel back in time to recreate the life of the farmers who tended the land inside the monastry walls. They learn the crafts they would have needed to survive including winemaking, bell casting, printing and cloth production.
