  In late June 1966 The Beatles played three celebrated concerts at the Budokan Hall in Tokyo Japan. On August 6 they released their album Revolver which broke new musical ground in terms of sound and instrumental variation. The Beatles used classical elements and pre-recorded tape loops to embellish lengthy elaborate songs like Eleanor Rigby Good Day Sunshine I'm Only Sleeping For No One and the psychedelic flavoured Tomorrow Never Knows. In autumn that same year the band took a three-months vacation from which they emerged with a totally different image: their mushroom hair style was a thing of the past their black suits had been replaced by colourful stage outfits and all four band members had grown moustaches.
