A bold plan to sail a fleet of battleships through the narrow Dardanelles to the gates of Istanbul and knock Turkey out of the war fails. The battleships are repelled before the massive Turkish forts guarding the Dardanelles. Following this defeat there is a poorly planned and under resourced campaign created to land an army and capture the forts. At dawn on Sunday April 25th 1915 an Army of many nationalities landed on the Gallipoli peninsula- their mission to create another war front on Turkey's strategic waterways The Dardanelles leaving the German lines weakened in the east and west. During the ensuing ferocious battle which lasted nine long months 450 000 men would be killed or wounded before Allied troops were finally withdrawn in what would be the only successful operation of the campaign. The documentary lays the responsibility for the catastrophe mainly with Winston Churchill Lord Kitchener and Sir Ian Hamilton. Revealing Gallipoli tells the story of what happened on Gallipoli from many perspectives including a Turkish farmer a Melbourne railway worker and an Irish poet. This programme follows the campaign from the very beginnings at the War Council Of London through to the eventual evacuation and the beginning of a legend which for Australians and New Zealanders is seen as a founding event in the story of their nations.

A working-class photographer captures the impact of Thatcherism on the north of England but is unable to escape the poverty and inequality she exposed. Driven by a commitment to document the impact of deindustrialisation on working class communities in Northeast England in the 1970s and 1980s, Tish Murtha used her camera to expose societal inequality. She felt she had an obligation to the people and problems within her local environment, and that documentary photography could highlight and challenge the social disadvantages that she herself had suffered. However, despite early acclaim for her work, she was unable to make a living from photography and died in poverty. The film is a journey of exploration for Ella Murtha as both daughter and custodian of the Tish Murtha archive, a chance to elevate and preserve a legacy that has been lost and to tell the story of an artist and woman outside of the ˜mother' that existed for her or the version of Tish claimed within dominant narratives of the 70s and 80s photography from the people who knew Tish and the images she left behind.

Travelling with the exclusive icon Weber weaves together the life story of a man they called the James Dean of the jazz world charting his incredible rise to international fame and adulation and his tragically rapid demise into womanising and drug addiction. The film uses excerpts from rare performance footage and candid interviews with Baker musicians friends and battling ex wives in what turned out to be the last year of his life. His movie star looks and cool sound set Baker apart but his endless battle with a narcotic addiction also gave a generation of fans a Doomed Youth of their very own. Chet Baker's life plays out like a Kerouac creation as did his death (he fell out of an Amsterdam hotel window age 58) but out of life came some of the most lyrical trumpet playing and jazz vocals ever heard.
