Italian drama. Giovanna (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) is a young woman who has a dead-end job and is trapped in a lifeless marriage. Her life is transformed when her husband brings home an old man who has survived the Holocaust but remains obsessed by events he can't quite remember from 1943. As Giovanna tends to him and tries to help him remember what happened in 1943, she in turn becomes obsessed with the man who lives across the road from her, who she can see everyday from her bedroom window. Eventually she must make the choice; to stay with her husband, or take up the new opportunities her handsome neighbour seems to offer.
