very good movie. if you havent yet seen them make a point to see them , as this trilogy is one of the best trilogy of movies ever released. the director has doon a great job to get it from book to film. i personally preferred the movies over the book as i found them very hard to read. this movie in particular gets the ball rolling smothly. it gets you excited and makes you want to watch the other two movies straight off. although it is very long, it is worth it. Must Watch!!
Lots of action and special effects good finish to the series. Not much away from the expected, but worth a watch.
If you've watched the others in the series, you'd just be letting yourself down not to watch this one.
Superb, atmospheric film with hard lead charactors and visually stunning.
Definitly a classic
Very dissapointing not to see any new material on this DVD. If you've got his first 2 DVD's don't bother.
Funny guy, but this will leave you feeling exploited.
Kung Fu Hustle is a spectacular visual feast that combines fantasy and comedy with effects that blur the lines of reality.
Set in a time that should be the past, in a wild-west town that could never exist, this film follows the struggle between the decent folk of a local housing estate, the thugs from the nearby city, the Axe Gang, and the heros that stand in their way.
The music creates the perfect ambiance throughout the film and the choreography is impressively fast paced and rivals that of Jackie Chan's.
This has got to be the natural progression for Live Action Anime movies that will be a hit the world over.
What a magical christmas adventure. The computer animation is the best I have ever seen. When the children board the train, the whole sense if christmas comes to life. The songs are superb, and the train ride over the mountains, was like riding it yourself. The North Pole was a magical place, with everything and more you would expect. This has got to be one of the best feel god films I have seen in a long time and a definite for the family.
Brillant mafia series story. A very good story to all the godfathers. very good special features on the fifth disc. i think the best set of gangstar movies ever made. the best actors are marlon brando and al pacino
The 13 episodes which comprise the 2005 comeback series of Doctor Who has already been available over 4 single releases. These discs can be bought for approximately £10 each but feature no extras. The episodes presented here come with commentaries on every episode, have a 5.1DD optional soundtrack and feature extras on the making of the series (Destroying the Lair, Laying Ghosts, Deconstructing Big Ben, Mike Tucker"s Mocks of Balloons and Designing Doctor Who); video diary featurettes from Billie Piper (Rose), Russel T. Davies (main writer and executive producer) and Mark Gatiss (writer); an interview with Christopher Eccleston from BBC Breakfast; an interview with John Barrowman (Captain Jack) and lots of trailers. The fifth disc is the main extras disc and contains 14 episodes of Doctor Who Confidential, the programme which was broadcast on BBC3 immediately after each episode. Each episode goes behind the scenes with the cast and crew and focusses on a different aspect of new series. However, the episodes are not the original transmitted versions which contained many interviews and clips from the original series. Also, all the contemporary music which was used in these shows are not included, presumably for clearance issues. Despite this, this collection of material is a welcome complement to the main episodes and the omissions will only really bother the die-hard Doctor Who aficionado. The fourteenth edition is all-new material looking at the yet-to-be-broadcast Christmas episode "The Christmas Invasion" and includes short interviews with the new Doctor, David Tennant.
As to the actual series itself - well Russel T. Davis has managed to pull off the unthinkable, taking Doctor Who by the scruff of its neck and changing it from a cult show that generations of kids just sneer at to something which the BBC are now proud to advertise as family entertainment. The trade-off is that the old show of the past which, at its peak held the attention of many through slow, spooky drama and how-will-they-get-out-of-that? cliffhangers has been replaced with cutting-edge effects and lavishly spent-upon sets. Thankfully, however, the essentials are all in place - a mysterious traveller through time and space, the Police Box TARDIS, the monsters and some amazing original stories which are never as po-faced as every other sci-fi series.
Another institution, which resurrected itself through this series, was the Daleks. These robot/mutant hybrids put the fear of god into generations of avid viewers in the 60s before becoming lost to the Playstation era. Any shortcomings of the metal exterminators were seriously addressed in this series with images of flash-fried skeleton deaths, levitating Daleks and a bone-crunching reply to the sneering comment regarding it"s "sink plunger"! The Daleks feature in three episodes of this series.
All the episodes are presented virtually as broadcast (there is some debate from the hard-core fans over some music cues) which is not necessarily a good thing. On broadcast, the "next week" trailers which crashed in obtrusively before the closing titles was annoying and irritating - on DVD they seem ridiculous and redundant and I would rather they were edited out.
The episodes are presented here with a 5.1 DD sound option. For those of you with decent sound systems, this set becomes very tempting. A good example of the beefy soundtrack is on the sequence of the alien spaceship crashing through Big Ben and into the Thames, with the subwoofer delivering some heavy-duty impact. Other highlights are the ethereal audio movement of the Gelth which considerably ramps up the spookiness factor.
Be warned that there is an authoring glitch on disc 2 which means that almost 2 minutes of a scene in "World War Three" is skipped unless you select Play All from the main menu.
On a superficial level, the packaging is initially original and pleasing to the collector. The set of 5 discs are housed in a robust cardboard Police Box-shaped TARDIS complete with a 16 page booklet detailing plot summaries and disc chapter points of every episode. However, it would have been far more practical to have this set available in a wide amary case as the novelty value of the chunky box soon wears off as you realise how much unnecessary shelf space it takes up. Also be warned that many people who received the set through the post have complained of loose discs and the inside trays coming off. At the end of the day for a 5 disc set of, admittedly excellent material, the RRP of £70 is very much overpriced with too much of the money being spent on the packaging. Even at £40, the set would not be exceptional value and is obviously targeted for the Christmas market. It is, in my opinion, worth saving up for as there has never been a better concept for a tv series and this time around, money has been spent on it.
This is the 80's in a box! ...those suits, cars, guns, music and women! What a series... It made an era more memorable as a reult of just being made! The recent Cruise film also by Mann makes you think of the original that is Miami Vice - camera work, colours and design. It just doesn't get better than this! Buy it now and re live those 80's the way life is meant to be! ENJOY...
What a wonderful Christmas time movie. It told me what christmas is all about for which I had for gotten the true meaning. It's all about the chrildern.I wish we could have more movies like this.
I throuht Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was great.Johnny Depp was great as Willy Wonka. This version told a better story and a proper ending.
Watched this with my little girl and it struggled to hold my attention let alone hers. No obvious humour in it despite the well known actors adding their voices. Good story line but needed working on further to be watchable more than once.
When I first heard they were remaking this movie, with Tom Cruise as the star and Steven Spielberg as the director I thought wow this is going to be great but it was not.The acting was ott, there was no start to the movie and when it finish I said is that it.I thought the original was alot better than this farce.
WANT SOME MORE OF THE OFFICE? THEN LOOK ELSEWHERE, ALTHOUGH THE GHOST OF BRENT OCCASIONALLY RAISES HIS HEAD, THIS IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT BEAST AND ALL THE BETTER FOR IT.
BASED AROUND THE CENTRAL CHARACTERS OF ANDY & MAGGIE, THIS IS AN OFTEN GENTLE AND MORE OFTEN HILARIOUS SERIES WHICH, DESPITE IT'S SETTING, DEALS WITH RELATIONSHIPS AND THE NEED FOR ACCEPTANCE.
GERVAIS IS EXCELLENT THROUGHOUT BUT ALL THE PLAUDITS MUST GO TO ASHLEY JENSEN WHO'S PORTRAYAL OF HOPELESS ROMANTIC MAGGIE WILL HAVE YOU IN STITCHES!!
I MISSED THE SERIES WHEN IT WAS ON TV - I'D SEEN A BAD TRAILER FOR IT AND GAVE IT A WIDE BIRTH. I TOOK THE PLUNGE WITH THE DVD HOWEVER AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED AS THE CHARACATURES OF THE OFFICE HAVE DISAPPEARED AND A MORE POIGNANT AND INSIGHTFUL COMEDY HAS TAKEN OVER.
FULL PRAISE GOES TO ALL THE STARS WHO TURNED UP TO RIDICULE THEMSELVES WITH ESPECIAL PRAISE FOR BEN STILLER, KATE WINSLET AND LES DENNIS.
AND IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE GERVAIS IMPRESSION OF A GENIE YET, BUY THIS DVD JUST FOR THAT - HAS ME IN STITCHES EVERYTIME!!!

What can i say, a fantastic 1st season, guaranteed to make you cry in at least 1 episode! Great for a girly night in!!
Very funny DVD, bought it for my father as a christmas gift, the whole family watched it together and we loved every minute of it! Rory is a genius!!
Who am I is a great film it's about a commando who loses his memory after he falls from a helicopter into a bunch of trees, he is then rescued by a tribe and when he goes back to civilisation he his to find out both identity and who was trying to kill him. He has also got to remember how bad he can be to be able to protect himself and his new found friends and to keep the bad guys from getting the disc with information on a natural weapon.
Well here we are...the end of an era and it's been a long time coming. After "the Phantom Menace" which tried to introduce the saga (and just about got away with it...well just) and the somewhat sagging "Attack of the Clones" (not the best title for film it must be said) George Lucas finally gets back on track with Sith. Yeah I know many out there say predictable and not as good as Episodes IV to VI etc etc but this film exceeds where the past two failed. We finally find out why Anakin turns to the dark side, dons the suit how the Emporer takes over power, while not trying to take itself too seriously. This is what films are all about. Pure entertainment. Sit back, forget about the world outside and just enjoy and in most departments Sith does that. Star Wars are not films which we should need to sit back afterwards and discuss the ins and outs about this plot and this character.....Its either wow or do better next time, but of course there won't be a next time.....or is there?
I'M TEMPTED TO JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT - RUBBISH.
HOWEVER, I'LL GO A LITTLE FURTHER JUST TO CLARIFY.
