Decapitated return with their first official DVD release: Humans Dust! Metal Mind Productions is proud to announce release of the first ever DVD by Decapitated! The material entitled Humans Dust This Polish death metal band was formed in 1996 when the average age of the band members was just 14. All attending the music school yet facing ridicule with the release of their debut demo (Cemeteral Gardens June '97) due to their young age they succeeded in gaining respect with sound that convinced many that Decapitated is not just another ordinary band. With the follow-up demo (The Eye of Horus October '98) the band's abilities really began to shine. Many people focused on Decapitated's age as a reason to doubt them - the fact was that the band were already becoming an established live act throughout Poland and in working so hard on the road had earned themselves a cult reputation as genuine contenders rather than simple novelties. Further exposure was garnered by the inclusion of their tracks on the 2000 Relapse Records Polish Assault compilation alongside Yattering Lost Soul and Damnable. Their first album entitled Winds Of Creation recorded for Earache subsidiary Wicked World was produced by Vader's Piotr Wiwczarek. Released in April 2000 the record immediately struck the world-wide attention of death metal fans and the band began to be hailed as potential big league players. Theyve released 4 studio albums so far (Winds Of Creation 2000 Nihility 2002 The Negation 2004 Organic Hallucinosis 2006). The bands early demos were released by Metal Mind Productions on a CD entitled The First Damned. The main feature of the DVD consists of the bands gig in Krakow (October 2002) which was a part of their European tour along with Vader and Krisiun. Judging by the style of a fair proportion of the videos on Changing Faces you would think that Mrs Redknapp (nee Nurding) is a futuristic, Barbarella-style pop chick. From her second solo video, "In Walked Love" (where she replicates the look of Kylie circa 1995) through to "Arms Around the World" and "Beautiful Inside", space-age settings and costumes abound. Admittedly it's rather strange labelling Louise as Miss Modernist, but take a look at the video to "Let's Go Round Again" where she's running around a futuristic factory complex, in a tight red leather suit--it's all rather progressive to say the least. Despite such raunchiness in later productions, and suggestive titles such as "Naked", it is not until her fourth single, "Undivided Love", that a male romantic figure is introduced (this was also around the time she became a Loaded magazine pin-up fave). Perhaps it was the record company's initial desire to nurture Louise as a wholesome girl-next-door figure that resulted in the poor lass having to star single-handedly in the early videos.Forgetting about the love interests and the futuristic themes the best videos are the message-laden "2 Faced" (complete with a one-dimensional supporting cast) and Reservoir Dogs-style promo for "Stuck in the Middle With You". Symbolically reflecting its title this collection traces the various guises of Louise over the years--watch her mature from an angel-faced songstress to the stunning, confident performer of today. On the DVD: attractively laid out, the menus are easy and fun to use, with the main menu allowing you to play the videos, browse the photo gallery or connect to an exclusive Web link. The video sub-menu allows you to select whether you want Louise to introduce each of the videos, play them back-to-back (with no introduction), or choose to watch them individually. If the videos are played individually, another sub-menu pops up with the highest chart position and year of release. Unlike the CD version, the DVD fails to include any of Louise's Eternal videos ("Just a Step from Heaven", "Oh Baby I" and "Stay"). The photo gallery is also rather limited, including just eight shots of Mrs Redknapp from the "Stuck in the Middle" video, but this inadequacy is compensated by the DVD's glossy insert which provides a comprehensive Louise cover anthology. --John Galilee
When Peter Gabriel Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford joined forces in the late sixties their initial intentions were not to be recording artists in their own right but rather songwriters writing songs that would ultimately be recorded by other artists. That initial plan soon fell by the wayside when in the early seventies the group secured a record deal and started releasing albums as Genesis. During the subsequent years the group progressed from being at the forefront of the under

Still adored by audiences in the US, Lover's Live presents footage of Sade's critically acclaimed sell-out tour of North America in 2001. Throughout the concert Sade is just as suave and sophisticated as the lover boy she so poignantly sings about in "Smooth Operator". The silky, gold robe, which she adorns for the majority of the concert, is a perfect match for her honey-sweet voice. Like the simple stage set, Sophie Muller's pale photography is just as basic and functional but succeeds in bringing the vibrant Sade to the foreground. The screen at the rear of the stage conjures up evocative visual imagery, which match the mood and enhance the performance of each song. The simple but breathtaking stage projection of a water drop hitting the surface of a larger mass of water for "Somebody Already Broke My Heart" adds an awesome and spine-tingling edge to the song's chord crescendo. As well as an ample dispersal of tracks from the "Lovers Rock" album, most of her greatest hits are performed; from "Your Love Is King" to "The Sweetest Taboo". Her music and image may have progressed little since she was the golden cover-girl of The Face, but it's still great to hear that delectable voice and witness that elegant panache. On The DVD: enhancing the style of the main feature, the DVD boasts an array of quality extras and slick menus. "Message To Sade" is an excellent short film directed by top art-house directors, the Polish brothers, which focuses on the excitement prior to the concert, as well as highlighting some of her dedicated and eccentric fans. The Polish's behind the scenes sequence of both the band and Sade preparing to go on stage, plus a 16-shot tour photo gallery further enhances this package. Muller's video for "King Of Sorrow" is also included. --John Galilee

In View is meant as a companion piece to REM's best-of album, In Time, but it works well as a collection in its own right. A video history of some of the Athens, Georgia band's biggest songs, its focus is firmly on the latter part their long career, with videos from Automatic for the People ("Everybody Hurts", "Man on the Moon", "Nightswimming", "Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite"), Out of Time ("Losing My Religion"), Monster ("What's the Frequency, Kenneth?"), New Adventures in Hi-Fi ("E Bow the Letter", "Electrolite"), Up ("Daysleeper", "At My Most Beautiful"), and Reveal ("Imitation of Life", "All the Way to Reno"). There are just two videos from their pre-breakthrough album Green ("Orange Crush" and "Stand"), though admittedly they shied away from making videos early in their career. Still, nobody can fault the presentation of In View. Of course, the promos are spectacular, if occasionally too self-consciously artsy, but there's even more here. There are three live videos, recorded in Trafalgar Square, and six additional, rarely seen videos ("Tongue", "How the West Was Won and Where It Got Us", "New Test Leper", "Bittersweet Me", "Lotus", "I'll Take the Rain"). Best of all, though, is the ability to watch them with or without brief, introductory interviews with the band, which give a window into REM's ongoing appeal: as talented as they are, they're still refreshingly human pop stars. --Robert Burrow
