Part New Wave, part pure punk, part Brit pop, the Psychedelic Furs have changed little over the course of their more than two decades together as this concert, filmed at the House of Blues in Los Angeles in 2001, makes crystal clear. That means that Furs fans will delight in the 15-song, 75-minute concert's non-stop onslaught of thick, echo-drenched slabs of guitar and frontman Richard Butler's braying vocals. Sure, the lyrics are largely unintelligible; the sound tends toward the monotonous; Butler says nary a word to the audience; and there are no on-screen titles, which makes it tough to tell one song from another. But the singer has undeniable charisma and energy, as well as some catchy tunes--including, of course, "Pretty in Pink", from the 1986 movie of the same name. And the 15-minute, three-song acoustic segment is a welcome bonus at the end of the programme. --Sam Graham, Amazon.com

This is a rare film capturing one of the great German bands of the '60's/70's. The film was originally launched at the Edinburgh festival in the late '60's.
One of the most commercially popular rock groups of the 1970s Pink Floyd achieved superstar status despite being routinely experimental and often downright bizarre. Indeed the group have proven an enormous influence on numerous contemporary bands - stand up Muse Radiohead Linkin Park and 100 others - and remain a wholly credible name to drop more than 30 years since Punk Rock was supposed to have killed off their kind of progressive nonsense . So to many the end of Floyd was all but signalled by The Wall (and its accompanying feature film) both released during punk s dying hours. But the years since that epic double album have been a quite fascinating era for the band and its main axis of creativity Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour. This film traces the path Floyd took after the recording of the pre-Wall Animals album an era when cracks in the band first started to show and brings the strange story of the group and the intense relationship between Waters and Gilmour right up to date culminating with the wholly unexpected collaboration of these two maverick musicians at a 2010 charity event. Featuring numerous interviews with Waters Gilmour Wright and Mason liberally interspersed with classic and rare performance footage plus contributions from friends colleagues and the finest rock journalists plus seldom seen photographs news reports and a host of other features. Extras include; Extended Interviews Special Feature When The Wall Came Down Contributor Biographies and more.
For many years Iron Maiden have represented the very peak of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement that swept the musical world in the mid 1970s. Their spectacular stage shows and thundering nightmarish metal anthems scored the band one of the most devoted followings in rock combining infamy and genuine musical thrills to devastating effect. The dual speed-metal soloing and shotgun riffs of Dave Murray Adrian Smith and later Janick Gers has long been a trademark of the Maiden sound and this DVD provides a note-for-note guide to five of their most characteristic and recognisable classics. Danny Gill shares the secrets and techniques so you can capture the sounds of these masters of metal for yourself. Includes the anthems Can I Play With Madness Run To The Hills and Number Of The Beast.
