This second in the series of Blink 182's Urethra Chronicles documentaries can only appeal to those who have a blinded adoration for this trio of pseudo-punks. One would have thought that Tom, Mark and Travis would appear older, wiser and funnier this time around but no such luck--they're still eight-year-olds trapped in grown-up bodies. As the camera follows these adolescents around once more, we get more insight into their banal, cringe-worthy behaviour, watching them burp, fart and spit and learning how they like to screw pigs, while being subjected to footage of their painfully sanitised live gigs (a fake ring of fire around the drum kit? Puuurleeeese). These guys want so desperately to appear subversive and "k-r-ay-z-ee" that they just come across as boring dorks. On the DVD: Urethra Chronicles has no sleeve notes accompanying this DVD, though the back of the jacket tells all you need to know. There are only three options on the screen menu; watch the movie all the way through, watch any of the 14 chapters separately, or visit the bonus section, which features exclusive videos (the never-before-released version of "Stay Together with the Kids"), live footage from their 2001 tour, a boring photo gallery and more footage of the band, such as a torturous interviews with Tom and Mark about UFO/conspiracy obsessions and unicorns. The aspect ratio is 4:3 full screen. --Paul Sullivan
From the opening sequence of two masked men scrabbling down the front of Las Vegas' MGM Great Garden Arena, Britney Spears: Live from Las Vegas clearly has mega ambitions. Initially broadcast live on HBO in late 2001, the concert uses hyper-real special effects to explore the idea that dreams sometimes can feel too "real". Like her coming-of-age third album the risqué dance routines herald a move into more adult territory, but with regular excursions back to the pink, fluffy Barbie-style of old. The show also raises other questions about reality: for instance, is she singing live? Given the demands of the stage routine, where she somersaults and cavorts around the stage like there's no tomorrow, it's probably fair to assume that she'll probably be too short of breath to sing a note. As well as packing in all of her greatest hits (from "Born to Make You Happy" to "Baby One More Time"), classic album tracks are also performed (including "Boys" and "What it's Like to Be Me"). With most of the action taking place on a giant walk-way, which projects into the heart of the auditorium, this is more a spectacle than a concert On the DVD: Live from Las Vegas has no extras, but the lavish concert footage might be supposed to be compensation enough, with the sharp soundtrack (available either in Dolby Digital Stereo or Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound) adding extra intensity. Incorporated in the concert is a short film of Britney performing a totally unfunny comedy take-off of "Making the Band", where she plays a Janis Joplin wannabe. --John Galilee

Their passion for army surplus gear may have waned but Live in Liverpool proves that 23 years on, Echo and the Bunnymen are still one of the greatest post-punk bands around. Recorded in August 2001 in their home city, the show is a subtle mix of their greatest hits and more recent tracks. In an attempt to give the recording a 1980s chic, vintage cine-camera footage of the band on tour (shot in the style of Derek Jarman's work with The Smiths) is superimposed over the live material. While the classics ranging from "Nothing Ever Last Forever" to "Bring on the Dancing" significantly out-number the newer material ("An Eternity Turns" and "King of Kings") they nevertheless sit comfortably together. Proving that they're not too old to rock, the recording begins with the band emerging from a pre-show party clutching bottles of beer. Throughout the live show McCulloch balances a cigarette between his fingers, demonstrating that he's still a bit of a rebel, but perhaps with less of a cause these days. He's still a wonderful performer, and combined with the menace of co-founder Will Sergeant, the Bunnymen are still a live musical force to be reckoned with. On the DVD: Live in Liverpool on disc comes with a quality sound recording which successfully recreates the audio atmosphere of the concert, precisely balancing the bass, vocals and drums. The visuals are, at times, basic, but this is more than made up by the excellent sound and on-stage performances. The on-screen menu is also rather plain, with the strained bonus material perhaps only of being of interest to die-hard fans. Using the same material as that which is superimposed over the main concert footage, the short bonus films for "Crocodiles" and "Zimbo (All My Colours)" provide a flavour of the early Bunnymen. There are also the low-budget videos for "It's Alright" and "Make Me Shine", the two singles from 2001's Flowers. As well as this extra material, it is also worth noting that the DVD live recording and track-listing, differs markedly from that featured on the Live in Liverpool CD. --John Galilee
